Programme overviewنظرة عامة

Vanuatu grants citizenship for a contribution from USD 130,000 under the Citizenship Act [Cap 112], with no residence requirement. It permits dual citizenship.

It is also the only country in the world to have had its EU visa waiver permanently revoked, and it lost UK visa-free access in 2023. Both were done because of this programme. If travel access is why you are looking at Vanuatu, read the next section before you read the price.

Risk notes

!

Indian citizenship ends automatically on acquiring Vanuatu citizenship. Read what this means for an Indian passport before committing funds.

!

The EU permanently revoked Vanuatu's visa waiver by Regulation (EU) 2025/11, in force 3 February 2025 — the only country this has happened to. There is no Schengen access.

!

The United Kingdom imposed a visa requirement on 19 July 2023. There is no UK access.

!

Vanuatu is on the EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes and on the EU AML high-risk third country list. Banks act on both.

!

There is no published government processing standard. Any timeline you are quoted is an estimate.

!

The contribution is non-refundable, and eligibility remains contingent on due diligence and government approval.

Compliance

✓

Due diligence runs through the Financial Intelligence Unit, the police and Immigration Services, with automatic refusal on an Interpol database match.

✓

An oath is required within three months of approval, extendable by two. Official sources conflict on whether it must be taken in Vanuatu or may be taken by video link, and we do not promise a remote oath.

✓

Agent fees are not published by the government. Ask any consultant to state their own fee separately from the government fee, in writing.

✓

The status of the Capital Investment Immigration Plan is confirmed with the Citizenship Office before a file is opened.
