Egypt grants citizenship by investment under Law No. 140 of 2019 from USD 250,000. The Cabinet's published standard is six to twelve months, and political rights are deferred for five years.

Egypt grants citizenship by investment under Law No. 140 of 2019, implemented by Prime Ministerial Decree 3099/2019 as amended by PM Decree 876/2023 and PM Decree 3562/2023. Four routes are open: a USD 250,000 non-refundable contribution to the state treasury, USD 300,000 in real estate, USD 450,000 in an investment project (USD 350,000 in the project plus USD 100,000 non-refundable), or a USD 500,000 three-year interest-free deposit at the Central Bank. The Cabinet publishes an overall standard of six to twelve months. A government fee of USD 10,000 applies per application.
Approximately 50 visa-free or visa-on-arrival destinations (Henley Passport Index, 2026). No EU or UK visa waiver.
No residence requirement to hold or keep the citizenship, but six months of temporary residence is granted to execute the investment
Spouse follows a separate two-year route under Law 26/1975; parents, grandparents and siblings cannot be included
Egypt permits dual nationality. India does not — Indian citizenship ends on acquisition.
Citizenship can be withdrawn within ten years for fraud, five years on conviction for a felony
