Meet the minimum 65-point pass mark (after +5 nomination points).
Submit an EOI and receive nomination from a state or territory.

Risk notes
Subclass 190 invitations are issued by states and territories, not in the departmental SkillSelect rounds. Home Affairs states that state and territory nominations are not affected by departmental invitation rounds, so there is no national cut-off score for 190; each state sets its own selection criteria.
Each state runs its own occupation list, its own streams and its own additional criteria, and changes them without much notice. Check the state's own site before committing.
State nomination adds 5 points. You still need 65 points in total including those 5.

Compliance

Your occupation must be on the MLTSSL or the STSOL (ANZSCO 2013). Both were last re-issued effective 28 March 2026.
Applications are processed in the order set by Ministerial Direction No. 122.
Current queue positions published by Home Affairs: May 2025 for priority sectors, January 2026 for onshore applicants, February 2025 for offshore.
